Matthew McGovern

Matt McGovern co-founded Cypress Creek Renewables in 2014 and led the company as CEO and board member through its growth into one of the country’s largest, privately-held developer of utility scale solar projects in the country. Matt then co-founded Silver Creek Energy and formed a partnership with Pine Gate Renewables to form Silver Pine Energy. Matt has an extensive background in utility-scale solar development, financing and investment banking.
Mike Cohen
Principal
Mike Cohen is a power-market attorney who co-founded Cypress Creek in 2014 and served as the company’s president through its rapid growth into one of the largest developer of utility solar projects in the country. Prior to Cypress Creek, Mike led business development and project finance for North Carolina-based utility-scale solar developer Strata Solar, and served as an attorney at Kirkland & Ellis focused on development, financing and purchase/sale of renewable energy products.
Ben Catt
Principal
Ben Catt is CEO of Pine Gate Renewables, where he creates key partnerships, drives company strategy and oversees development, operations, project and corporate finance. Before joining Pine Gate Renewables, Ben served as Director of Structured Finance and Business Development at FLS Energy, a utility-scale solar developer in North Carolina. FLS Energy was acquired by Cypress Creek in 2016.
